‘Twas the Week Before Christmas (Part 2 of 2) . . .

The Booth is ending its year on a high note and booking strong into 2012. ¬†We appreciate and thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown us throughout the year. ¬†Wishing you all a Happy New Year and the best in 2012!

In closing and just for fun here is a little twist on a famous Christmas poem which recaps the party . . .

‘Twas the week before Christmas when all through the house
Only Chico was stirring, no worry – no mouse
The stockings were hung here and there with some care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Tinsel wrapped railings and twinkling lights all above
Walking along candy cane lane what’s not to love
There were all kinds of food to fill your tummy
And desserts galore that were all so yummy!

The table of grab bags was filled to the gill
So one more was added for the overflow spill
Fun and games were part of the night to appear
Like my airplane mania – my goodness, oh dear . . .

With their folded paper planes, so cool and quick
In just a few moments they all look so slick
Family and friends were lining the hall with planes
And they shouted the winners and called them by name!

Yay Ka’eo, Yay Kellan, Yay Cecil and Ricardo
Yay Ralphy, nay Renee, nay Frankie or Kim-o
They flew their plane through the green holiday wreath
Five of them made it and others felt grief

Todd serenaded us with his cool clarinet
With a medley of Christmas songs not to forget
Some of us just listened and some of us hummed
But not everyone could come so we were bummed.

And then, in a twinkling I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I peeked out my head and was turning around
Down the hallway St. Nicholas came with a sound
He was dressed in fur, from his head to his foot
But his clothes weren’t tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bag full of gifts he flung on his back
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his sack.
His eyes how they twinkled his dimples how merry
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow
And the beard of his chin was as white as snow.

Santa sat in the photo booth oh wow wee
And called the good boys and girls smiling with glee
He had a cute face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly elf
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself
A wink of his eyes and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

As he picked up each gift he called out their name
And one by one they started to stake their claim
Some came and sat or cried on ole St. Nick’s lap
While others stood by and just started to clap.

He sprang from The Booth to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle
But I heard him say as he drove out of sight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
